The BOERS

The Boer breed has been on our farm for the last 8 years. Many of the grandchildren's meat goat projects have come from here. Along with our partners, we upgraded our Boer herd this year with some wonderful stock. Wethers-castrated males-will be for sale for 4-H projects in the spring.

Megan Rose was Reserve Champion Boer Doe at our fair. We then took her to the Champion Co. Harvest Classic where she was Junior Champion in both shows. Jane and Jim Rose have been wonderful helping us get a start with selling us Megan Rose, lending us equipment, knowledge and supporting our grandchildren. A big Thank you, Jane and Jim with Mike and Amanda Gibson who helped us learn how to show her.

Forrest has claimed Dimple for his show doe. She replaces the does and kids that he lost when the barn burned in the spring. We are proud to own. Thank you Riggs Florence for offering her for sale. We've gotten in one show for her this fall the Champaign Co. Boer Goat Classic in Urbana OH where she was Senior Champion in both the Junior show and the Open Show. She passed ennoblement inspections on 11/17/2010 and 12/01/2010. In the sale flyer when we purchased her was the following:

SHOW DOE ALERT!! If it wasn’t for me needing money this doe wouldn’t be leaving my farm. This doe has it all. She has show points, has passed inspection and also placed 5th out of 23 does at IYAILE and the grand and reserve champs come out of this class. ALERT: She just won Senior Reserve Champion at the Ohio State Fair. WOW!

We purchased Dream this fall to improve our Boer lines. We think this was the best purchase we could make and are using him on all the Boer does.

This extremely wide buck has a lot of eye appeal. He is sure to help any breeding program. He has already won Overall Reserve Champion at an ABGA show and has been Grand and Reserve Champion at other ABGA and IBGA shows.
